En photographie, le flou a cette particularité d’être à la fois l’erreur la plus basique à éviter en même temps qu’une forme extrêmement difficile à obtenir – entre erreur technique primaire et ambition artistique.

Pauline Martin a eu l’excellente idée de nous faire parcourir l’histoire de la photographie à travers le prisme du flou, depuis l’invention du procédé jusqu’à nos jours. On y découvrira que, selon les époques, le flou est tantôt considéré comme une valeur positive, tantôt négative. Dans un développement historico-thématique, les œuvres présentées racontent l’évolution de cette forme dont les usages n’ont cessé de se modifier selon les époques et les pratiques, qu’elles aient été amateures, artistiques, scientifiques, ou encore de reportage.
