"La photographie Plasticienne, un art paradoxal" by Dominique Baqué

Dans cet essai, Baqué situe la diversité des pratiques de la photographie admises au champ de l’art contemporain depuis la fin des années soixante. La dénomination « photographie plasticienne » sert à qualifier, pour cette courte période de l’histoire de l’art, les multiples croisements entre le médium photographique et les arts plastiques.

Tout au long de l’ouvrage, elle revient constamment à cette idée que la photographie plasticienne fut l’un des éléments porteurs de la déconstruction du modernisme.

In this essay, Baqué situates the diversity of photographic practices admitted to the field of contemporary art since the end of the 1960s. The denomination "plastic photography" is used to qualify, for this short period of the history of the art, the multiple crossings between the photographic medium and the plastic arts.

Throughout the book, she constantly returns to the idea that plastic photography was one of the elements that brought about the deconstruction of modernism.
