" Stefano De Luigi's idea of working on the sites of the Odyssey with a simple smartphone perpetuates its relationship with modern technologies. Yesterday it was film, today it's digital media, the new ideal travel companion, whose infinite potential he explores. Accustomed to long-term editorial projects, and a keen observer of changes in our society, De Luigi has scoured the Mediterranean, drawing a constant parallel between the classical and contemporary worlds.

His project offers a myriad of interpretations: a revisitation of the Odyssey set in today's context; a look at the Mediterranean as a stage for new and dramatic peregrinations; a journey in the footsteps of Western civilization; a reflection on the use of media. In fact, all these readings intertwine, and from one of Ulysses' twelve stages to the next, the story moves from a documentary approach to a more literary tone, from images that tell the real story to others that give free rein to the imaginary and to nostalgia. “ En imaginant un travail sur les lieux de l'Odyssée, muni d'un simple smartphone, Stefano De Luigi en perpétue la relation aux technologies modernes. Hier c'étaint les premières pellicules, aujourd'hui c'est le support numérique, nouveau compagnon idéal de voyage, dont il explore les infinies potentialités. Coutumier des projets éditoriaux de longue haleine, observateur attentif des évolutions de notre société, De Luigi a reparcouru la Méditerranée en traçant un constant parallèle entre le monde classique et le monde contemporain.

Son projet offre une myriade d'interprétations : une revisitation de l'Odyssée inscrite dans le contexte actuel ; un regard sur la Méditerranée, théâtre de nouvelles et dramatiques pérégrinations; un périple sur les traces de la civilisation occidentale ; une réflexion sur l'usage d'un média. En réalité, toutes ces lectures s'entrelacent et, de l'une à l'autre des douze étapes d'Ulysse, le récit passe d'une approche documentaire à une tonalité plus littéraire, d'images qui racontent le réel à d'autres qui laissent libre cours à l'imaginaire et à la nostalgie.
